The Daily Mechanics of the Human Business
Every struggling entrepreneur struggles for a couple of reasons. The main one is being spread too thin. For larger companies who have a farther reach the issue is the same. Often times what is at a loss is the human component. We are given technology and taught that we should create automated systems…not wrong. However, automated systems are never truly void of human connections or relationships. In every case there is a human thinking cap behind the system of automation.
In some instances I think we are losing connection. When websites only list email addresses and when the only way to be helped is through a chat bot… (insert eye roll here.) The problem is that chat bots do not speak the same language and emails can be misconstrued. Take it from me an email fanatic. I just like things in writing from a legal and confirmation perspective. I have been taught to leave a paper trail. However with all of that being said the most effective way to communicate other than face to face seems to be through vocal recognition. Why are we “Xing” out the human component, when we live, breath and coexist, in a world full of humans? As if we ever really could disconnect from the millions of people on earth. I can honestly say that it baffles me.
The mere derivative of the purpose of the media we call social is to be “Social”. So why then are we not adapting to more social qualities. Although the form in which we communicate may be through extension, the point is still to vividly communicate the realm of our ideas. With removal of the fear of judgment aided by the use of technology why are we saying less? Why are we not expressing more?
I think that it is important to create automated systems to expand our reach but I also think it is equally important to maintain genuine relationships.I think it is important remember and remind ourselves that the most valuable resource on the planet is either the human staring back at you in the mirror or the one standing next to you. When did we decide it was okay to completely lose touch with reality?Do I think social media is bad absolutely not, do I think human relationships are always everything that they should be cracked up to be? No. Too much of any one thing can be bad. So, when will we find the balance?
